Nathan Sherwood

PT, DPT OCS, CSCS

Nathan has been fascinated with the structure, function, and adaptability of the human body since childhood. He integrates his love of problem solving with a passion for helping people reach their physical potential.

After pursuing a profession in the performing arts as an actor and musician, Nathan suffered an injury to his back that significantly restricted him for several years. He was proactive in his recovery and began reading extensively on rehabilitation and strength training, becoming so interested that he went back to school and earned two undergraduate degrees in exercise science and sports science by 2013. He was a personal trainer and strength coach prior to earning his doctorate in physical therapy through Long Island University in 2020.

Nathan has diligently pursued therapeutic mastery through focused patient care, continuing education, and multi-discipline mentorship. He began training in Functional Manual Therapy in 2018 while in PT school. He has also been practicing vestibular rehabilitation since 2021, undergoing 2 years of direct mentoring from the head vestibular therapist of the concussion program at the Hospital for Special Surgery. He became a certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist in 2023 through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. He will soon be sitting for certification in Functional Manual Therapy in the summer of 2026.

When outside the clinic, Nathan enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. He loves cooking, playing music, traveling, practicing martial arts, and strength training.
